Focus and Scope

Wanastra: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra appreciates and supports researchers in English studies as part of its commitment to disseminating scientific knowledge and community service. The journal provides free access to all published articles for national and international audiences.

The editorial board welcomes original and innovative manuscripts in the following areas:

1. Linguistics
Phonetics and phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Grammar analysis, Discourse analysis, Language acquisition, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Error analysis and interlanguage studies. 

2. Literature
Classical to contemporary literary theories, Structuralism, post-structuralism, feminism, postcolonialism, ecocriticism, Narrative theory and textual analysis, Critical discourse in literature, Cross-cultural literary studies, Poetry, drama, novel, film, short story, and other literary forms, Cultural studies and literary heritage

3. Teaching
Teaching methodology and pedagogy, Innovative teaching strategies, Curriculum and material development, Assessment and evaluation, Educational technology and digital learning, Teacher professional development, Classroom research and learning environments

4. English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
Translation, Workplace communication and professional discourse, Business English, medical English, legal English, aviation English, tourism English, Discourse studies in academic, medical, legal, business, or technical fields

Submitted manuscripts must be original, properly cited, and not previously published in print or online.

All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism will be automatically rejected.
