The IJCIT Journal Editorial Team recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and has established the following policy stating specific actions (sanctions) if plagiarism is found in articles submitted for publication in the IJCIT Journal. Turnitin software checks for plagiarism, and the IJCIT Journal accepts articles with a similarity level of less than 25%.
Definition:
Plagiarism is an act that is intentionally or unintentionally carried out in obtaining or attempting to obtain an award or value for a scientific work, by citing part or all of the written work and/or scientific work of another party that is recognized as a scientific work, without citing the source properly and adequately.
Therefore, then: The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not in the process of awaiting publication elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources must be clearly identified so that it is different from the original manuscript.
If plagiarism is found, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve the action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:
Level of Plagiarism:
1. Tracing a short sentence from another manuscript without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the manuscript and cite it correctly.
2. Tracing most of another manuscript without citing it correctly and not citing the source. Action: The submitted manuscript is rejected for publication in the IJCIT Journal and the author may be sanctioned for not publishing in the IJCIT Journal. All authors are responsible for the content of the submitted article because the author signs the IJCIT Journal Publication Ethics / Originality of Manuscript Statement Form.
3. If the manuscript is classified as plagiarism, then all authors will be subject to the same action.
4. If the author is proven to have submitted a manuscript to the IJCIT Journal by simultaneously submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is found during the reviewer process or after publication, then the action according to point 2 above is given.
5. If plagiarism is found outside the provisions above, the IJCIT Journal editorial team has the right to impose sanctions according to editorial policy.
