ABSTRACT
Modern tourism focuses not only on destinations but also on the quality of tourist experiences. Layout and lighting play an important role in creating an atmosphere that supports visitor comfort. Based on preliminary observations, Fort Vredeburg in Yogyakarta shows potential as a night tourism destination, as indicated by the implementation of thematic lighting and the increasing interest of visitors in visual experiences. This study aims to analyse the influence of layout and lighting on tourist experience. The method used is a quantitative approach through a questionnaire survey of 100 respondents, supported by direct observation, with multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that lighting has a positive and significant effect and is the dominant variable, while layout has no significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables influence tourist experience. This study recommends optimising artistic lighting, strengthening visual focal points, and developing structured night tourism routes.
