Author Guideliness

The Editorial Board of Informatics and Computer Engineering Journal welcomes original manuscripts in the form of research articles in the fields of informatics, computer science, information systems, and computer engineering that have not been previously published in any other publication. Manuscripts must be submitted through the official online submission system of Informatics and Computer Engineering Journal.

General Writing Guidelines

The submitted article must not have been previously published in another publication and must not contain any form of plagiarism. Authors may submit a signed plagiarism-free declaration as a supplementary file or attach the results of a plagiarism similarity check. The manuscript must be formatted in a single-column layout using A4 paper size (21 × 29.7 cm), with the following margins:

Left and right margins: 2.5 cm
Top and bottom margins: 3 cm

The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman, 12-point font, and single-line spacing. The minimum manuscript length is six pages. Paragraphs must use 6-point spacing after each paragraph and a first-line indentation.

Document Format

Article Title

The article title must accurately describe the content of the manuscript using as few words as possible. Authors should avoid unnecessarily long titles and the use of phrases such as:

“A Study of…”
“An Investigation of…”
“Implementation of…”
“Observation of…”
“The Effect of…”
“Analysis of…”
“Design of…”

The accuracy of the article title is important because it affects the article’s visibility in search results. Keywords also help readers and researchers find the article.

Author Names

Each author’s name must be followed by a superscript number, such as 1, 2, 3, and so on, according to the author’s institutional affiliation. An asterisk (*) must be placed next to the name of the corresponding author.

Author Affiliations

Each author affiliation must be identified by a superscript number, such as 1, 2, 3, and so on. The affiliation must include the name of the university or institution and its complete address, including the street, city, and country.

Author Email Addresses

Each author’s email address must be identified using the corresponding superscript number. An asterisk (*) must be placed next to the email address of the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in both Indonesian and English. Each abstract must be presented in a single paragraph and aligned using justified text. The English abstract must be written in italics. The abstract should contain between 100 and 250 words and briefly describe:

The research problem or background
The research objective
The research method
The main findings
The conclusion

Authors must provide three keywords or key phrases that represent the main content of the manuscript.

Introduction

The introduction must clearly explain:

The background of the study
The research problem
Relevant literature related to the topic
The proposed approach or solution
The novelty and contribution of the research

Citations and references must follow the APA style, for example: (Sanjaya, Ramdhani, & Prasetio, 2016). Foreign terms must be written in italics. The article should generally be organized into the following sections:

Introduction
Proposed Method or Algorithm, if applicable
Research Method
Results and Discussion
Conclusion
References

Authors may use references in the Introduction section to explain the differences between the current study and previous research and to demonstrate the novelty of the article. When a study proposes an original method or algorithm, an additional section may be included after the Introduction and before the Research Method section. This section should briefly explain the proposed method or algorithm. The Introduction may also present supporting theories related to the proposed method, problem-solving approach, or method development. These explanations must be supported by reliable references, such as books, journals, conference proceedings, and other scientific publications.

Research Method

The Research Method section must explain the stages and procedures of the research in a clear and chronological manner. This section may include:

Research design
Research stages
Research procedures
Algorithms or pseudocode
Data collection techniques
Data acquisition methods
Data testing procedures
Data analysis techniques

Descriptions of research programs, procedures, methods, or algorithms must be supported by relevant references to ensure that the research can be scientifically understood and evaluated.

Results and Discussion

This section must present the research results together with a comprehensive discussion. The results may be presented in the form of:

Numerical data
Graphs
Tables
Diagrams
Screenshots
Photographs
Other relevant visual materials

The presentation of results should help readers understand the findings easily. The Results and Discussion section must emphasize the novelty, innovation, contribution, and implications of the research. The discussion may be divided into several subsections. Each table, figure, graph, or other visual element must be accompanied by an adequate explanation. Equations must be numbered consecutively. The equation number must be placed on the right-hand side in parentheses. Tables and figures must also be numbered consecutively, for example:

Table 1, Table 2, and so on
Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on

Table titles must be placed above the table, while figure titles must be placed below the figure. Tables should use horizontal lines for the headings and the final row of data. Excessive vertical lines should be avoided.

Conclusion

The Conclusion section must explain whether the research objectives stated in the Introduction have been achieved based on the results and discussion. The conclusion should be consistent with the research findings and must not introduce new information that has not been discussed previously. Authors may also include:

The implications of the research
The potential application of the research findings
The limitations of the study
Recommendations for future research
Opportunities for further development

Detailed statistical data should not be repeated in the Conclusion section. Recommendations for future research must be relevant to the findings and, where appropriate, supported by reliable sources.

References

The main references should include international or national journal articles. The manuscript must contain at least five relevant references.

All references must be:

Relevant to the research topic
Derived from reliable academic sources
Current and up to date
Cited within the manuscript
Listed in the References section

References must be written according to APA style using Mendeley or other similar reference-management software. The reference list must be arranged alphabetically in ascending order from A to Z. References do not need to be separated into categories such as books, journals, conference proceedings, or websites. References from websites or other online sources are permitted, provided that they come from credible and reliable sources.
